Our Gen 2 Patient Entertainment Handset is built to last. With our patented Speaker Shutter door, it’s fully waterproof (IP67), ensuring protection against spills and easy cleaning. Using high-quality textured polyester film, designed for high abrasion and solvent resistance, the handset is also anti-stain and anti-microbial, making it perfect for infection control in healthcare environments. The smooth surface allows for quick and simple cleaning between uses.
Lightweight and Comfortable Design
Weighing just 358 grams and measuring 151 x 65 mm with a 23 mm thickness, the Gen 2 handset is designed to be lightweight and comfortable for users of all ages. Its contoured shape makes it easy to grip and operate, ensuring comfort for everyone—from children to the elderly. The intuitive design allows effortless button pressing, even in low-light settings.
Crisp Sound Quality
The Gen 2 handset features a high-quality 1-watt, 8-ohm, 50mm diameter membrane speaker, delivering clear, balanced, and clean TV audio output. Our patented speaker cover slides open for sound and shuts for cleaning, maintaining the handset’s waterproof integrity.
Durable and Practical Features
The 3.5mm audio jack on the side is designed to be both dustproof and waterproof, complete with a separate silicone plug for extra protection.
With two LED indicator lights, the handset offers clear visual feedback, enhancing the user experience. These are located to the left and right of each set of control buttons.
The nurse call button is large and engraved with braille for easy identification and with its two reassurance lights, assistance can be summoned even in the dark.
TV controls, including power, volume, and channel buttons, are centrally located for easy access. Additionally, the TV navigation keypad allows full control of your Smart TV, including switching between Free-to-Air and Paid TV channels.
Enhanced Functionality
Our Gen 2 Patient Entertainment Handset includes a 24V in-built TV Interface Controller, eliminating the need for an external controller and saving your facility up to $350 per room. Plus, the TV settings can be locked to prevent unauthorized changes, ensuring settings like brightness, contrast, and aspect ratio are protected.
Flexible and Replaceable Cable
The medical-grade polyurethane cable is designed for durability and ease of use. There are two available options. Our curly cable has a straight cord length of 2.6-meter and an additional ½-meter curly cord, it stretches to a total length of 3 meters. The second option is a straight cable with a 2.6-metre length and no curly cord. In case of damage, the entire cable can be easily replaced without replacing the entire handset — simply unscrew two screws at the bottom of the device.
Backwards Compatibility
Our Gen 2 handset is backwards compatible with our Gen 1 PEH handsets and wall socket plates, making it plug-and-play. Please note: The Navigation Control Buttons do not work if integrating a Gen 2 handset with our Gen 1 Wall Socket.
This offers a significant cost-saving, with no need for additional installations, and ensures a seamless upgrade for both new and existing rooms.
Infection Control and Easy Mounting
The universal cradle that comes standard with the Gen 2 handset is equipped with an antimicrobial silicone strap, making it easy to mount on a patient’s bed rail or on the wall next to the bed. This design ensures that the handset can be used by the same patient throughout their stay, further supporting infection control efforts.
